In all of the clamouring for attention by my students, I’d almost forgotten that we are in Advent. I wholly equate Advent and Christmas with the ushering into humanity Jesus, the Christ, and therefore, the perfect embodiement of divine love.

My gratefulness for the ones I love cannot seem to be on my lips enough during this season. I want to reach out to all of my loved ones and give them heart hugs that last for hours. I am forever thankful for experiencing that kind of love. My Advent promise is to be that to those who challenge my desire to do so. My Christmas wish is that the light of Christmas is spread throughout the world.

You know my thoughts on “God”; I’m more of the belief that each of us is the divine and that we are all here to either teach or learn lessons from each other. There is but one path with infinite possibilities and we are always right where we are supposed to be at any moment. Does that equate to love? Yes and no.

I think that too many people have subscribed to the theory that love is a “happy place.” when in reality is that love is just acceptance of self and others regardless of their issues or choices. Mother Theresa got it; Ghandi got it; heck, even Michael Jackson got it – maybe it’s time the rest of us get it!
