Perfect harmony. This concept has been so easily experienced with my Angel sisters. We have a perfectly harmonious relationship. We truly love one another, we accept one another, we are different notes that create incredibly beautiful music together. It’s funny how easy it is to have this relationship with them. It’s funny how difficult it is to have it in romantic relationships. It’s funny how difficult it is to love others who we don’t see as our perfectly imperfect soul friends. We want them to be what we want or need them to be… for us. This is not the selfless love that was reflected in the love verses. It is a constant struggle to love unconditionally–at least for me. I think the only way to be selfless in love is to love oneself selfishly. Without radical love and acceptance of self, it is impossible to love and be loved in return.
Colossians 3:12-17. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
I apologize for not loving selflessly. I pray for the ability to love and accept myself radically, so that I may love others in an attempt to create perfectly harmonious relationships.
